Today I am celebrating President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by posting a video that has nothing to do with healthcare. This is an amazing piece of visual and performance art hailing from my old homeland. Warning: If you have even a drop of Eastern European blood in you, grab a box of tissues.
Marya, I feel as compelled as well as completely ignorant watching this... I get the gist, but not the details... would you mind explaining some of the imagery, in particular the obelisk?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz, for your comment.
ReplyDeleteI believe the obelisk is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow (see this link with image:http://evimedgroup.blogspot.com/2009/10/monday-morning-quarterbacking-on-our.html). The story is the compelling universal story of love, war, loss, and enduring hope. The final caption says "You are always near".
